Applelec Featured in Record-Breaking Manufacturing & Engineering Magazine Issue

Applelec featured in Manufacturing & Engineering Magazine highlighting sustainability, circularity and UK manufacturing innovation

Applelec is proud to have been featured in Manufacturing & Engineering Magazine’s most-read issue to date, reaching 243,953 readers and counting.

The coverage spans three areas of the business, reflecting our continued focus on sustainability, people and digital capability. This includes our shortlisting for Sustainable Initiative of the Year at the Made in Britain Impact Awards for the Applelec Recycling Scheme, alongside editorial exploring leadership development and digital transformation within the business.

The sustainability feature, commissioned by Made in Britain, highlights the Applelec Recycling & Refurbishment Scheme, shortlisted for Sustainability Initiative of the Year at the Made in Britain Impact Awards, and showcases how circular design, refurbishment and responsible recycling can deliver meaningful change in a traditionally high-waste industry.

A separate article focuses on leadership development at Applelec, exploring how structured support and investment in skills helps strengthen long-term decision-making, culture and resilience across the business.

The final feature examines our digital transformation journey, including the implementation of Clarity, and how improved systems and data visibility are helping to streamline operations and support future growth.

These initiatives have been delivered in collaboration with West Yorkshire Business Boost, Exemplas, Leeds Beckett University, and Digital Enterprise West Yorkshire, with support from the Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, demonstrating the value of regional and government-backed programmes in driving meaningful change.

As a West Yorkshire–based business operating as an Employee Ownership Trust, we’re proud to see this work recognised as part of wider conversations shaping the future of UK manufacturing. We’d like to congratulate the Manufacturing & Engineering Magazine team and everyone featured in this standout, record-breaking edition, and thank the Applelec team for their hard work and shared commitment throughout a standout year for the business.
