We are delighted to announce that our Applelec ECO Lightbox has been chosen as a finalist product in ‘The Best Sustainable/Eco Friendly Product’ category, at this year’s VM & Display Awards 2024.
Celebrating excellence and innovation in the retail visual merchandising and display sector, the VM & Display Awards brings together the UK’s most influential creatives, retailers, and suppliers in celebration of their considerable achievements.
With 1,200 entries across 20 categories, the Applelec team are proud to have been chosen as a finalist, recognising our diligence and commitment to developing and manufacturing products that endeavours to blend style and sustainability.
The Applelec Eco Lightbox sustainable credentials include:
An interchangeable skin made from recycled PET plastic bottles (8 bottles per meter square).
Skins are printed with non-toxic, water-based inks.
A thin, rigid backing made from PEFC recycled wood-pulp, that robustly withstands store conditions.
A recyclable, slimline 32mm frame that halves the weight of a traditional lightbox, reducing materials and manufacturing resources.
Glue has been replaced with clips and screws for ease of disassembly and re-use/recycling at the products end of life.
Highly energy efficient LEDs decrease its wattage and in-turn running costs, whilst its advanced lens technology improves, reliability, longevity and brightness, requiring fewer LEDs to achieve the same level of brightness.
“The Applelec Eco Lightbox is the most efficient design we’ve [independently] tested,” Design Conformity.
We also plant a tree for each order, further enhancing the products positive impact on the environment, making the choice to be sustainable, a no brainer!
